Detectives are hunting a man after a teenage girl was the victim of a serious sexual assault near Harrow-on-the-Hill station.

The man first tried to assault the 17-year-old while she was on the Metropolitan Line heading into the town centre on February 6.

He followed her when she got off the train and attacked her outside the station in Clarendon Road opposite the Royal Oak pub between 10pm and 10.15pm.

The attacker is described as being of Asian origin, between 25 to 30 years old, of chubby build and with a beard.

He is believed to have boarded the train at Eastcote Station and was wearing blue jeans and a green hooded jacket during the incident.

Police have released a CCTV image of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.

Anyone with any information about the attack or the identity of the two men should contact Det Con Mike Harper at Barnet police station on 0208 733 5033.
