A wide variety of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and textiles are expected to adorn the Annual Summer Exhibition of the Barnet Guild of Artists this month.
The assortment of portfolio work, in addition to the greeting cards that showcase members’ work, will demonstrate the versatility of the Guild’s members and is sure to prove popular with anyone who may have even a passing interest in the medium.
Since 1948, the Guild has honed the talents of professional artists and constantly welcomed newcomers into the fold. Group painting exercises, which are offered on a daily basis, run at the studio and tutorials are carried out on Saturdays, providing plenty of opportunity for new faces to jump on the bandwagon.
Sometimes drawing their inspiration from a library of art books, the Guild members work tirelessly to produce art that provides strong impressions of local scenes and everyday life.
The Barnet Guild of Artists Annual Summer Exhibition is at Pennefather Hall, Christ Church, St. Alban’s Road, Barnet, 24 July to 4 August, from 10am, 01234 764232, www.barnetguildofartists.org.uk.
