HARROW East MP, Tony McNulty gave the gift of reading to children in impoverished countries.
Mr McNulty donated a book to Book Aid International during a reception in the House of Commons on Tuesday.
The charity sends more than half a million books to libraries, hospitals, schools and refugee camps to 18 African countries and Palestine every year.
Donating Clever Anasi And The Bullfrog, a book which tells the story of a bullfrog whose skin glows with different colours, Mr McNulty said: "Books can make a real difference to people's lives. They are the basic tools of literacy and education yet millions of children and adults across the developing world do not have access to them."
