The time has again arrived when the flag of St George will be seen hanging from bedroom windows and fluttering next to car roofs across the country as a nation of football fans hope that long wait for England to win a major competition will finally end.

Whether you prefer the official name of Euro 2020, or Euro 2021 after the competition was delayed a year by the pandemic, the tournament is almost upon us and England will open their campaign against Croatia on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

We wish Gareth Southgate, who was born in Watford, and his players the best in their quest to end 55 years of hurt, but England are one of 24 nations competing and many of you will be supporting another country's team, hoping they are triumphant in the final at Wembley on Sunday, July 11.

Over the next month we want to help you enjoy this feast of football by showcasing your pictures as you cheer on your national sides from across the Watford area.

We’d love to see you waving your flags and scarves wearing your replica shirts. But we also want to see and hear about what businesses and schools are also doing in the area to enjoy this sporting festival.

Perhaps you own or run a pub and have installed big screens in your garden to help with social distancing while restrictions continue, or will have special promotions going on? Maybe you work in a restaurant that is having a football-themed menu or dishes? Or perhaps your school is organising Euro-related lessons and games?

The tournament begins on Friday evening when Turkey face Italy in Rome. If you will be following one of those nations, show us how you are supporting them once the game gets underway.

Our aim is to showcase the various ways you will be supporting your favourite countries as the tournament unfolds, building it up from before the first ball is kicked until the final celebrations on July 11.
