Parkfield and Headstone secured an 88-run victory over Hatch End in Division Five on Saturday.

The hosts batted first and vice captain Ian Schmid top scored with 73. He was ably assisted by Andrew Ward (37). Sunil Tiwari (45) and Prashant Nagarajan (29) provided plenty of impetus as Parkfield and Headstone’s lower middle order pushed them to a more than competitive total of 227 all out.

In reply, Hatch End were unable to get going and excellent bowling from all rounder Schmid (four for 42) and Nagarajan (two for 32) proved too much for the Hatch End batsmen who were skittled out for 139.

The Seconds crashed to a 77-run defeat at Allenbury in Division Nine. Parkfield bowled first but couldn’t prevent Allenbury posting an imposing 210 for six despite four wickets for Tim Garnon Williams.

In reply Parkfield were never at the races and only managed to post 133 with Jinesh Shah (24) top scoring.

The Thirds slumped to an eight-wicket defeat to Luton Town and Indians Fourths in Division 12.

Kamal Sharma was unbeaten on 80 as they scored 189 for nine but the opposition had no trouble racing to the target for the loss of two wickets.

The Sunday XI managed to inflict a heavy 168-run defeat on rivals Grimsdyke. Parkfield posted a daunting 258 for eight off 40 overs. Schmid continued his good form with the bat, scoring 116. Tim Powell claimed five wickets as Grimsdyke were bowled out for 90.
