Gordon Bartlett is being recognised for 14 years as Wealdstone manager in a testimonial match against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Stones boss said: "This will be my 15th year at Wealdstone and 25th in non league football. I didn't think I would be here for that length of time when I started out.

"If you have lasted this amount of time in one job I guess it shows you haven't done a bad job.

"It's predominantly a pre-season friendly as we prepare for the Ryman Premier season. But it's a nice gesture to give me the testimonial and I hope it's successful. If we can get a big crowd in it will be great and I've already had some nice comments from people. There will be a few friends down there on Saturday."

The Stones will line up against a strong Watford team as new Hornets manager Malky Mackay takes his side to Grosvenor Vale. The Championship side could feature players such as Tommy Smith and Nathan Ellington as they continue their preparation for the new campaign.

Tickets for the clash, which kicks off at 3pm, are available on the gate.
