Wealdstone have snapped up experienced striker Rob Haworth.

The former St Albans hot shot has been tracked by Stones manager Gordon Bartlett for years but he has finally got his man. The towering forward played for Margate last season but has opted to join Wealdstone for their Ryman Premier campaign next season.

The 32-year-old started his career at Fulham and enjoyed a successful four-year spell with the Saints netting 50 goals. He has also featured for Dagenham and Redbridge, Sutton, Hendon and Met Police.

Bartlett said: "I have been literally trying to sign Rob since he left Fulham and I am really pleased that he is coming to us at long last.

"Rob is a very experienced player and is highly regarded for his attitude and application. I have no doubt he will be a big asset to the squad for the coming campaign."
