Middlesex won their fourth successive match in the Twenty20 Cup after beating Surrey by five wickets at Lord's last night.

Surrey batsman James Benning hit 50 not out as the visitors reached 141 for seven from their innings. Dirk Nannes enjoyed excellent figures of two for 14 which included the vital wicket of Mark Ramprakash.

But the confident Crusaders overcame a jittery start at seven for two to get the win. A 57 run stand between skipper Ed Joyce (47) and David Malan (41 not out) saw the hosts home with an over to spare.

Middlesex are two points clear at the top of the South Division with their next game on Thursday against winless Sussex at Lord's.
