Xisco Munoz was pleased with the way Watford saw out their 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, but would have preferred to see them kill the game off with a second goal.

The head coach watched on as his team put in a battling performance after the break, with Adam Masina firing them into the lead in the first half.

While he was happy to see his side pick up another clean sheet, the boss felt his players could have scored more.

"A second goal would be more better for us," said Munoz. "I think it would be more easy to save the game. But it's not easy to close the games out or kill the games because you have in front of you very good teams and they have the same ambition like you.

"We had our chance and we could score the second goal and sometimes you need to also understand what happened in the game in the difficult moments.

"Everyone gave their best in this situation, because sometimes it can happen. You can kill the game and then you need to give a plus for the team in these moments."

The win takes the Hornets' win tally to six from the last seven games, a statistic Munoz was very keen to attribute to the hard word of his players.

However, he believes his team can still offer more.

"I want to say congrats for the players because this number is not easy," he said. "And I know behind we have very hard work but that's not enough. I think we can give more better things. I think we can have more of the control of the games.

"We have until next week to work in different situations and we are thinking forward to Cardiff."
