Xisco Munoz claims he is unsure why Joao Pedro was sent off as Watford were beaten away at Bournemouth and said the referee's decisions cost the Hornets.

Munoz was also confused with Tony Harrington's decision to award the Cherries a free kick, which ended up in the only goal of the game being scored by Arnaut Danjuma.

The head coach said that decision was the difference between his side drawing and losing the match.

"I don't know why. Sorry, but I don't know why he received the second yellow," said Munoz.

"I think you have one moment in the game. The moment in the game was when the referee gave the foul on our side and after changed it. I don't know why.

"Sometimes you can lose the points for one decision or for 10 seconds and I think he was today the difference. If not, maybe today we will receive a draw because I think both teams didn't have a lot of chances to score.

"I don't want to make excuses. Sometimes in the football it goes for one side, sometimes it's for another side. Today it was for the other side and we are waiting one day for it to go for our side."

Asked if he was angry with his players for getting involved in a scuffle at the end of the game during which Bournemouth's Jack Wilshere was also sent off, the Spaniard said he wasn't but that his players did need to learn more about controlling their emotions.

"No. It sometimes happened when I was player," he said.

"We need to learn about this. I think it's another situation and until the final, you will have different emotions. I spoke before also about emotions in the Championship. Sometimes it's up and down, up and down and in the game you have different moments and we need to have the control about this."
