Jonathan North has left Wealdstone by mutual consent after more than 10 years at the club.

The goalkeeper signed from Watford as a teenager in the summer of 2010 when the club were in the Ryman Premier Division, and he now leaves the Stones with them top of the National League South.

In a message posted on the Wealdstone website, North said: “To be leaving the club in the position it is now, top of the Conference South and with crowds regularly topping 1,000 is something I’m both proud about and pleased about for those who have put so much time and effort into helping us get into this position.

“When I look back at some of the away trips we have endured together over the past ten years, it is also particularly poignant that I’m leaving in the week leading up to no doubt one of the biggest Wealdstone away followings for a very long time.”

Club chairman Rory Fitzgerald added: "Jonathan North has been a loyal and outstanding performer for the club over close to 10-years and we wish him every success both in his future football career and away from football.”
