Joao Pedro offered another impressive insight into the reason why Watford have signed him by scoring a first-half hat-trick in Fluminense’s 4-1 Copa Scudamericana victory over Atletico Nacional.
Having come off the bench to net twice in 20 minutes in a 4-1 win over Cruzeiro in Serie A on Saturday, the 17-year-old talent was given his first full start last night and marked it in highly memorable fashion.
He scored twice inside the first 10 minutes to put Fluminense 2-0 up and then turned provide for Luciano Neves to net the third in the 12th minute.
Atletico pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 18th minute, but Pedro restored his side’s three-goal advantage by completing his treble 15 minutes later.

Watford confirmed in October that the young striker will arrive at Vicarage Road in January on a five-year contract once he has turned 18.
Pedro will become the second player to join the Hornets from the Brazilian club following Richarlison’s transfer in the summer of 2017.
