Facing Tottenham Hotspur at a neutral ground will have little impact on Watford’s Carabao Cup clash, according to Javi Gracia.
The Hornets travel to Stadium MK for the third round tie due to Spurs’ new ground being incomplete and their temporary Wembley home already being in use.
It is a situation Gracia has previously voiced his irritation over, but one he says will not affect his players ahead of tonight’s game.
The Spanish head coach said: “That decision doesn’t depend on me and we are playing where they (EFL) decide, in this case it is Stadium MK.
“We are happy to play there and, for me, it is important to know wherever we play we will have the support of our fans. It is a good stadium and we will do our best.”
Watford are expected to take a strong contingent of traveling fans on the short trip to Milton Keynes as they look to reach the fourth round of the competition.
While Gracia, who originally wanted the game to be played at Vicarage Road due to the issues over Spurs hosting the fixture, is grateful for the support, he is not expecting an atmosphere matching a home game.
He said: “A home game is when we play at Vicarage Road and in this case we play away. As I have said before, I know wherever we play we will have the support of our fans.”
