A KINGSBURY football freestyler has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by completing a mammoth keepy-uppy challenge.
Matt Wolstenholme, 29, of Kingsbury Road, completed the challenge on Friday afternoon by keeping a football in the air for ten lengths of the pitch in Roe Green Park in Bacon Lane, opposite Kingsbury High School, where 100 pupils cheered him on.
The personal trainer raised up to £400 for the Stanmore-based Aspire charity, which helps those with spinal cord injuries.
Mr Wolstenholme has a personal connection with the charity, after he was unable to walk for six months following a back injury he suffered in 2005.
He said: “It seemed like a perfect opportunity to raise money for a great charity, and I managed to do it with no mistakes – but I was very nervous.
“I used to play football competitively when I was younger and I still play socially keep up the skills, so it was a good challenge to try.
“I know how debilitating and frustrating I found my own back problems, but there are other people who have it much worse – it's really important these people get the help they need.”
