TEENAGERS will hold a second charity car wash in Wealdstone this weekend after the success of their first effort to raise money for a campaign against domestic violence.

Around 40 young residents, including Harrow Youth Parliament members, took part in the fund-raising drive behind the Wealdstone Centre, in High Street, Wealdstone on Saturday.

Portfolio holder for children’s services, Councillor Mitzi Green, said: “Young people often get bad press, but this is just one example of the very positive contribution Harrow teenagers make to their borough.

“The charity car wash organised by the youth services team at the council was embraced and led by youngsters from the area, showing the tremendous community spirit we have.

“I would urge residents to support this event and our young people as the money raised will go to a very good cause.”

A car wash costs £3 and the next event is planned for this Saturday (August 27), between 11am and 2pm at Palmerston Road Car Park, in Wealdstone.
