HATCH END Tennis Club in Clonard Way held its club Finals Day on Saturday. The fantastic weather provided a wonderful backdrop to the great tennis played.
The day started with Annie Patel successfully defending her Ladies Singles title against last year's runner-up, Gill Gibbs, 6-0, 6-2.
Later in the day, Annie, partnered by Caroline Carneiro, also retained the Ladies Doubles crown defeating Gill Gibbs and Valerie Piper in an entertaining match 6-3, 6-4.
Lastly, Annie completed her hat-trick by winning the final event of the day. She won the Mixed Doubles event partnered by Dave Williams.
They successfully overcame last year's champions Janet Kerridge and Andy Donald 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in a closely fought match.
The Men's Singles Final was a repeat of last year's contest between club coach Hugo Garton and 17-year-old Tim Duncan.
Hugo won the first set easily but was pushed hard in the second before emerging as winner 6-0, 7-5.
The Men's Doubles title also went to last year's champions, Andy Donald and Brendan Jowett. They won a hard-hitting match 7-5, 6-3 over Peter Kerridge and Jon Fienberg.
The event was well supported by members and friends who were able to enjoy not only the tennis but a great barbeque as well.
