SIX men and a woman face deportation after a raid by the UK Border Agency in Harrow on Monday.

Officers stormed a residential property in Kenmore Road, arresting five for overstaying their visas and the other two for working when the conditions of their visas did not allow them to do so.

The woman and three of the men are still detained and are wait to be deported.

The other three were bailed while the Home Office applies for the travel documents needed to send them home.

Damian Green, the Immigration Minister, said: “The Government has tasked the UK Border Agency with carrying out an intense period of enforcement activity.

“We are determined to make it harder than ever for illegal immigrants to come to the UK.”

Assistant Director John Lang, head of the Harrow and Hillingdon Local Immigration Team, said: “This is the latest in a series of operations designed to find and remove those who have no right to live or work in the UK.

“We continue to work closely with the police and other agencies to target those who are here illegally, and more raids like this are planned in Harrow and across London.

“Those who consider employing illegal immigrants should also know that they too could face action, in the form of a big fine.”
