A MAN who exposed himself at woman leaving them severely distressed has been jailed for a year.

Alexi Stelio Jerome, of Priory Close, Wembley, found most of his victim's at Wembley Park station and grabbed one while flashing himself, on Tuesday, November 17.

She managed to push the 27-year-old away and he got off at Neasden.

He pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault, one of outraging public decency and five of indecent exposure, relating to a range of incidents including in Sudbury Town, on the Piccadilly Line, and Elephant and Castle.

He was handed a 12 month sentence, banned from travelling on the London Underground for five years and told to sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years at Blackfriars Crown Court.

DC Claire Sheals, of the British Transport Police (BTP) Indecency Unit, said: “Jerome repeatedly exposed himself to young women travelling on the Tube, with most of his offences occurring at night.

“He would expose himself, often making lewd gestures to his victims before fleeing when he was challenged.”

She added: “While crimes like this are rare on the Tube, Jerome is responsible for causing his victims severe distress and I welcome his jail sentence and ban from the network.”

Howard Collins, chief operating officer of London Underground, said: “Jerome’s actions were offensive and totally unacceptable and we are glad the CCTV on our network helped the British Transport Police to track him down.”

Jerome was sentenced on July 23.
