MORE than £1m could be pumped into a Sudbury park through the sale of two “surplus” buildings.
Leading Brent councillors will tonight vote on plans to flog the properties, on the site of Barham Park, in Harrow Road, for an estimated £630,000.
Brent Council officers believe the Heritage Lottery Fund might then be willing to match the figure, providing a pot of around £1.3m in funding to regenerate the green space.
The two buildings are currently being used as a temporary children's centre and for temporary housing.
If the proposals go ahead, the buildings will be sold to the Notting Hill Housing Trust, a charity which provides accommodation for homeless people.
A report due to be presented to the council's executive committee tonight describes the properties as “surplus” to the needs of the parks service and recommends the scheme be approved.
