THIS colourful mosaic designed by pupils at a Kenton school was unveiled in a ceremony last week.

Staff and politicians gathered on Thursday, at 6pm, at Claremont High School, in Claremont Avenue, where the 15sq meter mural, between the sports hall and the old school hall, was opened.

The arts department secured a National Lottery grant for half the funding in February and supplied the rest of the cash itself.

There was music at the event, including a brass band, strings and a singer.

Art students at the school designed and made the mosaic, with the help of their parents and carers.
