A WEMBLEY headteacher has paid tribute to a school dinner lady killed in her own home last week.
Elif Oruc, 42, a mother of two, died from a single stab wound to the heart, in the kitchen of her Carlton Avenue East home, at around 10pm on Thursday.
Karen Giles, headteacher of Barham Primary School, in Danethorpe Road, said: “The staff and pupils are deeply saddened to hear of Ellie's death.
“She was very popular with everyone at the school and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.”
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is still in custody.
