Vijay Shah, 45, of Clayton Avenue, Wembley, was jailed for 12 months in May and has run out of time to appeal, meaning his ward is up for grabs.
Jayesh Mistry, 35, a bus driver of 15 years, is running for the labour party and says he has the dedication and determination to improve services for residents.
He said: “I have been on many local doorsteps and have heard the issues raised and as a resident have also experienced these issues for myself.
“I want to work towards resolving these issues and making sure that the voices of local residents get heard.”
The father-of-four is an active member of Unite the Union, representing colleagues on issues ranging from pay to conditions at work.
