A STANMORE lawyer who made almost £4,000 worth of refund claims has been given 200 hours community service.
Erien Dubash, 50, of Sandy Mount Avenue, tricked Transport for London (TfL) into dishing out hundreds of refunds over three years for delayed journeys that never happened.
At times she was making up to four claims a day.
She pleaded guilty to false accounting and was ordered to pay back the money along with another £8,000 in court costs at Southwark Crown Court yesterday.
Alex Whitmey, an investigations manager for TFL, warned other passengers not to make false claims.
He said: “This defendant defrauded her fellow Londoners out of vital funds which would be better used improving and expanding the transport network.”
