Detectives are investigating after a 'horrible attack' on a Labour constituency office.

Police were called to Labour’s Chingford & Woodford Green office, in Hatch Lane shortly after 9.10am on  June 1 to reports of graffiti on the property.

Shama Tatler, Labour candidate for Chingford, retweeted a post by journalist Rachael Burford on X which showed "Lobby Israel" among words scrawled in black across the door and windows.

The Kingsbury councillor, who leads regeneration, planning, and growth in Brent, said:  “This shameful vandalism is not just an attack on our campaign - it's an attack on our whole community.

"Together, we will defeat the forces of hatred and antisemitism and take our positive message of change to residents here."

@Alex_Georgiou1, a Labour supporter, wrote on X: "It was so upsetting to see in the morning , we cannot be divided and let individuals divide us. 

"I praise tribute to my colleagues at CWG who worked for hours to clean up this sickening graffiti."

Rachael Burford wrote: "Horrible attack on Labour’s Chingford & Woodford Green office, which was graffitied overnight. 

“Israel lobby” among the words scrawled across the windows. 

"Met Police is investigating."

Officers are investigating, Scotland Yard confirmed.

A spokesperson said: "There has been no arrest."
