Looking to buy a home in London?

Then you may want to take a peek at this list to discover the 20 postcodes in London that are among the cheapest in the region.

While recent data found London's most expensive, with W1S, Hanover Square and SW1A, Whitehall topping the list at prices of £5.6m.

But, as most Londoners might not be able to splash the cash for a £5.6m home, a new list has revealed the cheapest and most affordable in the capital. 

A recent study by, Online Marketing Surgery and Cardinal Steels using house price data from the HM Land Registry was able to rank the average house prices.

London's cheapest postcodes revealed

Taking the cheapest spot on the list was Thamesmead and the SE28 postcode within the London borough of Bexley where the average home cost £340,030.

Currently, on Zoopla, you can get a two-bed terraced home in SE28 for a guide price of £350,000 or for a slightly smaller home, a one-bed semi-detached bungalow for £300,000.

Also on the list was South Ockendon with the postcode RM15 where a typical home costs £360,668.

In South Ockendon, you can currently get a two-bed home with a garden and parking for a guide price of £375,000.

At the more expensive end, Romford with RM1 has an average house price of £413,396.

One of the houses currently on sale in Romford on Zoopla is a three-bed semi-detached house with a guide price of £400,000.
