Police have cordoned off an alleyway near to a stabbing crime scene.

The section between Mozzefellas and the Carpet Street shop on High Street, Edgware, remains shut this afternoon after heavy police presence in the area today (July 28).

A police car is parked by the taped off area.

It is unclear whether this is related to a wider cordon that was in place this morning, after a teenage boy, 19, was killed.

Police were called just after 1am this morning to reports of a man with a stab injury in Whitchurch Lane, Edgware.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, the 19-year-old died at the scene.

A police spokesperson said that the teenager’s next of kin have been informed and enquiries continue.

No arrests have been made at this early stage of the investigation.

A cordon was in place at Whitchurch Lane, with bus routes 79, 186 and 340 diverted from the scene.

This was however lifted by 11am.

Despite police clearing the scene at Whitchurch Lane, a separate cordon by the alleyway remains.

The Metropolitan Police have been unable to clarify if this was related to the stabbing.
