Commuters should expect heavy traffic once again as a major road connecting Wembley and Harrow is closed for a fourth day in a row.
A large stretch of Harrow Road remains closed in Wembley after a 12-inch water main ruptured, flooding the street on Saturday (May 13).
The closure today (May 16) is from the roundabout next to Sudbury Methodist Church and just past St Francis Lodge.
According to Affinity Water, the UK Power Network has completed its work to the damaged cable and the repair team will now start digging to expose the damaged water main.
Like the past few days, cars are being diverted and the 92 bus rerouted.
An update on Monday (May 15), reads: “During this time, all customers in the area will have a water supply however it may be at a lower pressure until the repairs are completed.
“For the safety of our team and road users, there is a road closure on Harrow Road. We're sorry if this causes some traffic delays and we'd ask you to avoid the area if possible.”
However an estimated time of when the closures will be lifted has not been provided.
The London Fire Brigade says that the 20cm deep water affected shops across the street, which was closed from Sudbury Court Drive to the junction of Watford Road.
The brigade were first called to the road at 5.52am on the Saturday and the incident was taken over for firefighters by 9.17am.
Crews used sandbags and a polyboom, which acts as a wall, to divert and contain floodwater.
According to the brigade, there were no reports of any injuries.
