A RESTAURANT in Stanmore has been granted a late licence despite objections from nearby residents.
The Spice Rack in Church Road can now open until midnight Monday to Saturday, and until 11.30pm on Sunday, with live music and dancing, and alcohol served until closing time.
Some residents from nearby Pynnacles Close and Elm Park had objected to the late licence application, arguing they would be disrupted by noise late at night.
Councillors approved the application at a meeting last night.
They imposed restrictions on the licence, including measures to stop noise emanating from the restaurant, and signs must be displayed encouraging residents to leave the premises quietly at night.
