PLANS to build 125 flats in Queensbury will bring "chaos" to the area, according to local residents.

BS Pension Fund Trustee Ltd wants to build three four-storey blocks and one five-storey block in Alpine House, Honeypot Lane, but Reshma Shah, 32, of Ruskin Gardens, said she is worried they will lead to more traffic, noise and pollution.

She said: "It's too high and it's opposite our road. We are not saying don't build but if they're going to do this they need to give us some support.

"It's going to have a big impact because our street is quite busy."

She said problems have already started since another block was built in nearby Repton Road and said residents were concerned the new development would exaggerate the issue.

Ramya Jayawardena, 44, another resident of Ruskin Gardens, said: "The area is not that great and it's going to be even worse. There's going to be noise and pollution.

"The property value will go down in no time and I've spent an awful amount of money to buy our property."

Brent Council is currently consulting with residents on the proposals but Ms Shah said she does not think they have asked enough people.

She has collected a 100 signature petition against the project, which she has presented to the council.

The council has only sent letters to some of the residents on the roads around her house, including Ruskin Gardens and St Paul's Avenue, and has not sent any to others, like Cowbridge Road and Repton Road.

Ms Shah said: "What we are upset about is only half our street has been told about this, I don't know why they don't inform us.

"No one is aware of it and obviously if no one is aware of it they're not going to complain."

The Harrow Times contacted BS Pension Fund Trustee Ltd for a comment but the company has so far not responded.
