A speeding driver killed a 33-year-old woman in a "horrific" crash after his out-of-control Range Rover smashed into a parked car and rolled onto a Tube line.

Yagmur Ozden died when the Range Rover she was a passenger in ended up on a railway track after a crash with a Tesla at 3.48am on August 22.

The Range Rover's driver, Rida Kazem  this morning (Thursday, February 16) pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court to causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Kazem, 23, of Costons Avenue, Greenford, is due to be sentenced at the same court on Friday, April 21.

The court heard Kazem was parked in a Range Rover outside a venue in Johnsons Way, Park Royal when he picked up two women and drove off along Coronation Road.

Kazem stopped at red lights on the A40 westbound, but shot away when they turned green, reaching around 110mph - almost twice the speed limit.

Still speeding, he clipped a kerb and the impact tore off one of the Range Rover's back wheels.

The car flipped and rolled towards a Tesla car park, where it smashed into a stationary Tesla in which a man in his 50s was sitting, then careered onwards over a wall and onto railway tracks at Park Royal Tube Station.

Emergency services raced to the scene but despite the efforts of emergency services, Yagmur Ozden, 33, died at the scene.

The second passenger of the Range Rover, a woman aged in her 20s, and the driver of the Tesla were taken to hospital and have since made full recoveries.

Kazem was taken to hospital, where his injuries were originally assessed as critical.

He refused to give a blood sample to police.

Detectives from the Serious Collision investigation Unit scoured CCTV of the lead-up to the crash.

Key witnesses also provided statements and evidence including a full data download of the vehicle was provided by a forensic collision investigator.

Kazem, who has since made a full recovery, was arrested in October last year.

He was subsequently charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to provide a sample of blood.

It emerged that Kazem had two previous speeding offences, and had been banned for driving at 95mph in 50mph road. The ban ended in June 2022, just months before the fatal crash.

Detective Constable Benjamin Simpson, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This case was truly horrific and I acknowledge the impact this has had on both the local community and the wider public.

"This was a difficult case and the police conducted an incredibly thorough and swift investigation which brought this offender to justice.

"I hope that the sentence imposed by the court will be of comfort to all the victims of this collision and their loved ones moving forwards."
