A woman was taken to hospital after a house fire broke out.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters from Stanmore and Wembley fire stations attended the scene in Headstone Road in Harrow on Sunday.

The London Ambulance took a woman to hospital following the blaze.

Part of the first floor of the property was damaged in the blaze.

The London Fire Brigade was called at 3.12pm and the fire had been extinguished by 4.36pm.

Heavy traffic was reported as Headstone Road was closed to allow emergency crews to work at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. An investigation is underway.
