The Sunday Times has released its school guide of 2023, finding which UK schools are the highest-achieving.

Seeing a number of Greater London schools get a spot on the list, including St Olave's Grammer School in Orpington and Tiffin School in Kingston Upon Thames.

The results are determined by the average percentage of examinations gaining A* to B grades at A-level and with an average percentage of 9-7 for GCSE.

The 30th edition of the Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide helps parents compare the performance of schools with others in the local area so they can see which are the best performing.

The top 10 state secondary schools in Greater London

The Henrietta Barnett School (HBS), Hampstead, was named The Sunday Times Secondary School of the Year for Academic Performance.

More than 3,000 11-year-olds sit entrance tests for one of the 104 places on offer at Henrietta Barnett School each year.

Clare Wagner, the head teacher, believes HBS’s strong showing in A-levels and GCSEs this summer is partly down to their response to lockdowns in the pandemic.

The top 10 independent secondary schools in Greater London

St Paul's Girls' School was named The Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the Year for Academic Performance and the London Independent Secondary School of the Year for Academic Performance.

The school, in west London, has topped the league tables for exam results in the fee-paying sector every year except one since 2011.
