Several roads in Pinner are due to be closed this weekend when Pinner Fair takes place.

A notice from Harrow Council in this week’s edition of the Harrow Times details plans to shut all or part of 14 roads from 5pm on Friday to 5am on Sunday.

During these times vehicles will be prohibited from using the following roads:

  • Bridge Street (all)
  • Cecil Park (all)
  • Chapel Lane (east of railway bridge)
  • Church Lane (near junction with High Street)
  • Elm Park Road (east end)
  • George V Avenue (nearside lane fronting farmland north and southbound)
  • Grange Gardens (near junction with High Street)
  • High Street, Pinner (all)
  • Love Lane (south of car park entrance)
  • Marsh Road (from Eastcote Road to Bridge Street)
  • Paines Lane (south of a point on the north side of its junction with Leighton Avenue)
  • School Lane (all)
  • Waxwell Lane (at its junction with Bridge Street)
  • West End Avenue (near junction with Marsh Road)

The following diversion routes will be in place:

  • South-east bound traffic at Pinner Green shall continue eastbound into Uxbridge Road, turn right into St Thomas Drive, ahead into George V Avenue, right into Pinner Road, follow to its junction with Marsh Road.
  • North-west bound traffic at Marsh Road shall turn right into Eastcote Road, left onto Cannon Lane, left into Whittington Way, left into Rayners Lane, right into Marsh Road, ahead into Pinner Road, left into George V Avenue, ahead into St Thomas Drive, left into Uxbridge Road, follow to its junction with Elm Park Road.

Meanwhile, two major roads in the centre of Harrow are set to be shut for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Parts of High Street, Harrow on the Hill, and Church Hill are due to be temporarily closed between 12pm and 4pm on June 3.

High Street is due to be closed to vehicles between its junctions with Peterborough Road and Church Hill, with Church Hill shut at its junction with High Street.

The notice states local diversion routes will be in place “where possible”.
