If you've ever walked along the River Thames and wondered what might be lurking below the waters, then look no further.

A recent deep dive into the UK's most well-known river has revealed the strangest and most surprising items hiding within the landmark.

Although London's oldest and most popular attraction may look unsuspecting, much of what lives under it is a lot darker and stranger than we could imagine.

From fish, rubbish, swords, and even a statue the recent study by Barratt London revealed what the wackiest items in the Thames are.

Strangest things found in the River Thames

Starting off strong with potentially the weirdest of objects is a giant Michael Jackson statue that was found floating down the Thames in 1995.

It's said that the singer used the statue to promote his album 'HIStory', but how it ended up in the river, no one is really sure and we'll probably never know how.

However, fans of the late singer should be made aware that it is no longer floating down the Thames in case you were planning on taking a dive for it.

Maybe the most recent bizarre item found is a 5,000-year-old human bone found in 2022 which left many shocked.

The slightly dark object dates all the way back to the stone age, with scientists using it to learn about humankind's history.

On a more humorous note, in 2017 a plastic crocodile was seen floating down the river and left many pedestrians petrified that the Jurassic animal was walking the streets of London.

Fans of historic weapons might be excited to hear that there's even been a 16th Century Sword that was spotted in 2021 along with an Iron Ball and Chain in 2009.

There have even been reports that a Roman brothel token was fished out near Putney Bridge in recent years too.
