The wife of a man who died after being hit by a lorry on the M1 says his death leaves a “massive hole”.

Fazle Virani from Harrow suffered serious injuries after the collision between junctions 4 and 5 northbound on the M1, between Watford and Elstree, at 12.30pm on February 22.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the 48-year-old died at the scene and his next of kin was informed.

Now paying tribute to him, his wife Fatma said: “Fazle will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

“His passing will leave a massive hole in our lives.”

“We continue to investigate the collision and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or has relevant dash cam footage, that has not already been in contact.”
