A pub located by a popular viewpoint has announced it will shut for good.

The Case is Altered, situated at the Old Redding beside Harrow Viewpoint, is a popular haunt for those looking to enjoy a scenic pit stop.

However, the nearby car park has been intermittently closed since 2019 due to reports of antisocial behaviour – which the director previously stated has impacted local footfall.

Now the pub has issued a statement this afternoon that it has “closed its doors forever”.

It reads: “We would like to thank all our customers for their support throughout the journey.

“Please keep the support going to protect Harrow View Point carpark from its closure.”

The pub owner previously stated in November that it could be months away from having to shut down due to the restrictions at the neighbouring car park.

Due to the limited parking availability, the pub was forced to operate in a limited window between 12pm to 4pm, affecting a large chunk of customers from around Hertfordshire, Hillingdon and parts of north west London who require a car to reach there.

The director previously stated: “If trading hours are longer, we can take the money to employ the staff we have, pay the bills – trading from 12 to 4pm seven days a week is unheard of.

“How can a business have a turnover or think of having a profit?”

With the car park being shut early, the pub was constantly empty after 4pm.
