Three teenagers have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a man in Burnt Oak.

A man was killed after he stabbed in the chest in Watling Avenue at around 5pm on Friday February 18.

Officers believe the victim is Muhamoud Mohamed Mahdi, who was 28 and lived in the Golders Green area.

The Metropolitan Police says its officers still await formal identification.

Three males, aged 16, 18 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody, police said today.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “Muhamoud lived with his mother in Barnet. My officers met with her today and she will be supported by specialist Met officers throughout the unimaginably difficult days and months ahead.

"I have assured her of my total commitment to ensuring that whoever was responsible for this senseless killing will be brought to justice."
