A pub minutes away from Wembley Stadium has been rebranded ahead of England’s game today.
The Torch pub just by Wembley Park station has changed its name following Gareth Southgate’s plea for the nation to show their support and back England in their game against Germany today.
It has been rebranded as ‘Southgate’s Revenge’ with a new temporary sign in place, calling back to Southgate missing a crucial penalty against Germany in 1996.
A win would not only bring closure for the England boss but, get the whole country celebrating too.
Of course the reference is just temporary, with the pub to revert back to The Torch later on.
Cvetelina Metanova, general manager at Southgate’s Revenge, said:“Being located in the heart of Wembley, we couldn’t be more excited to have such a landmark game happening right on our doorstep. That’s why we wanted to really celebrate and rally support behind the England team and Gareth Southgate, by doing a special pub takeover in his honour.
“The atmosphere here at the pub on game day is always incredible when England are playing and tonight will be no exception!”
The pub will be showing every match across the tournament, and people downloading the free Greene King season ticket app can get a free drink on their first visit.
