Croydon Harriers' junior men and ladies teams blew the opposition away on their home ground at Croydon Arena on Sunday.

The men's team were nearly 100 points ahead of Bexley to extend their lead at the top of the Medway Division of the National Junior Athletics League.

The ladies' win takes them to the top of their division, ahead of Maidstone & Medway on match points.

Croydon's Phil Greenland was the star of the show with his long jumping consistently over 7m and an easy victory in the B' string 200m in 23.3sec.

Clubmate Gavin Dublin stormed to victory in the 200m with a personal best 22.1sec before anchoring the sprint relay to a club season's best of 43.7sec.

Jake Elsworthy won the 400m hurdles (62.6 sec) before solid performances in all throwing events.

National champion Ugochi Anomelichi looked sharp coming back from injury with a win in the 100m (11.2sec) and under-17 star Bernard Yeboah claimed the B' string in the same time.

Matt Hall scored comfortable victories in the 3000m and 2000m steeplechase with season bests of 10:34.6 and 7:42.3. He was ably backed by Mark Elsworthy, who won both B' strings (10:41.9/7:46.6).

The Harriers almost swept the jumps events with Daniel Campbell taking the high jump (1.88m), Anthony Nelson and Bert Nnanyere the triple jump (14.00m/13.82m) and Joe Ives and Luke Elsworthy the pole vault (2.60m/2.40m).

Richard Aidoo easily won the 100m hurdles in 15.6sec and Luke Elsworthy backed him well by winning the B' string in 19.6sec. Another double was claimed in the 400m when Andrew Jenner (54.4sec) and Miles Dempster (54.2sec) recorded victories.

In the junior ladies match, Danielle Fidge scored a double win in the high jump (1.69m) and 100m hurdles (17.9sec).

Rosemary Garnett secured an easy victory in the long jump (4.95m) before winning the B' high jump (1.35m) while Michelle Watson won the 100m in 12.9sec. International triple jump star Azaria Francis was unchallenged in her event with a 12.16m leap.

Cara Smith secured a narrow victory in the javelin with 33.06m after an earlier winin the B' hammer with 16.09m. Croydon finished on a high with a 0.5sec victory over Dartford in the 4x100m.
