A man accused of theft allegedly attacked police officers when they arrested him behind a shopping centre.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement that the man confronted three officers when they stopped him in Greenhill Way, behind St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow.
It added that the 31-year-old man was wanted in connection with theft offences and that enquiries were ongoing.
The statement read: “On arrest the male became violent and assaulted three officers. None of the injuries sustained by officers are lasting.
“The male was restrained and taken to a north London police station where he currently remains.”
