A student’s debut performance in a classic Shakespeare tale of love and loss has been highly praised.
Lorenzo Niyonbgabo, 19, of Letchworth road, portrayed long lost twin Sebastian during the Westminster Bridge based college’s performance of Twelfth Night.
Mr Niyonbgabo attends The Davies Laing and Dick (DLD) College in Westminster Bridge Road, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the UK.
Sebastian’s tale shows the character caught in a comical love-triangle, when his twin-sister Viola take son his identity.
The young man is assumed dead, and sparks confusion when he is found alive, and is fortunate to find the beautiful Lady Olivia who falls madly in love with him and wishes to be his wife.
College Drama teacher Chris Chambers said: “Lorenzo is a hugely talented find, a serious actor in the making with great personality and a supremely inventive streak.
"Not only does Lorenzo have a wonderful stage presence, but he also varied his vocal tone to suit the accent of Jess Okpere who played Viola. This gave a clearer sense that they were playing twins.
"Twelfth Night was dependant on a tight ensemble and Lorenzo had all the passion to fit into the group whilst holding his own in the tricky role of Sebastian.”
