A Stanmore sixth form college is looking to boost the employability of its students by offering a new form of study programme.
Stanmore College's study programmes have a core qualification taken over two years, which is equivalent in size and difficulty to three A level qualifications, but more practically based.
A programme also includes a work placement, visits to related industries, careers events, expert speakers, English and maths if students don’t already have them at the level employers need, curriculum and extra-curriculum related enrichment and employability skills.
Stanmore brought in the study programmes after a national survey revealed career and financial support were major factors for 15-year-olds considering what to do after GCSEs.
