TWO men have been arrested in connection with assault after a 70-year-old woman was attacked and robbed outside her home.
Marian Botos, of Curzon Avenue, Stanmore, was assaulted and robbed at around 7.10pm on Saturday, November 7.
The 70-year-old had spent the day selling poppies and had caught the bus home after shopping in Edgware. Her handbag was stolen and has not been found.
She suffered a serious head injury during the robbery and remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The two men, aged 45 and 44, were arrested by police on Friday, November 13 on suspicion of robbery after a vehicle stop in a street. They have been bailed to a date in mid-December.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s and 5ft 8inches tall. He was wearing a light grey tracksuit, black trainers and a brown woollen hat.
It is believed that he fled the scene in a white van.
