It’s double delight for one student after receiving two awards from a James Bond star.

Leon Batchelor, 34, from Harrow, was named electrical installation student of the year as well receiving the Daniel Omari Smith award at the College of North West London’s annual awards.

The award is named after a student who died in 2010 and Casino Royale star Sebastian Foucan was on hand to give the 34-year-old his award.

After winning the award, Mr Batchelor said: “I thought they’d made a mistake when I heard! I was quite surprised but I’m so pleased.

“It’s been a great course. There’s been good support and the lecturers are all really friendly. I’ve also made a good few friends and now my family are very proud too.”

Foucan, who also toured with Madonna, was the guest speaker at the award and spoke to students about conquering their fears and overcoming adversity.

Principal Andy Cole added: “You all have reason to be really proud of your achievements, he said. “All you need now is the self-belief and knowledge that you can do whatever you want.”
