Three pubs in Harrow have won acclaim for the quality and standards of their toilets in the Loo of the Year Awards 2014.

The New Moon in Kenton Road, Kenton, has been awarded a platinum star rating by inspectors — the highest award possible — while The Village Inn in Rayners Lane, Pinner, and The Moon on the Hill in Station Road, Harrow, have achieved a gold rating.

Authorised inspectors make unannounced visits to hundreds of toilets at sites across the UK, in order to judge them. Each toilet is graded from bronze to gold with unacceptable toilets not graded at all.

The toilets are judged against numerous criteria, including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand-washing and drying equipment and overall management.

Congratulations to all the pubs on their richly-deserved awards.
