May I warn all blue badge holders who choose to shop at Iceland in Honeypot Lane, Kingsbury, that they now have to purchase a pay-and-display ticket as Excel Parking has installed automatic number plate recognition and I have recently been sent a penalty charge for £60.
We have been using the car park for a few years and have always displayed our blue badge with no problem as parking has always been free to blue-badge holders.
It has now been changed so everybody has to pay — even though the disabled bays remain.
The new signage is not very clear to the disabled driver and the manager of Iceland says several people are coming into the store every week to complain as they are also getting slapped with this obscene charge.
The manager says I still have to pay the fine as the car park does not belong to Iceland, but please print my letter to stop anyone else having to pay this unjust fee.
A very disappointed customer
