After reading about a project to leave a lasting legacy to the borough’s war dead, it reminded me that the people of Wealdstone can already read the names of those from the parish who fell during the First World War.
However, it would be a lasting legacy to those who gave their lives, if Harrow Borough Council led a project to ensure that the war memorial clock keeps good time.
I often walk pass it in the high street to see it is telling the wrong time.
In this year of the 100th anniversary of the start of the Great War, surely a fitting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice would be for this clock to be repaired once and for all?
