Preparation for the revamp of St Ann’s Road began last week with the removal of 14 trees as part of the plans to improve the town centre.
The trees will be replaced with 20 trees as part of the £2 million project due to be completed in November.
Renovations begin on March 4 and promise new paving and lighting.
Empty planters and the unused police kiosk will be removed, and the number of BT phone booths will be reduced as part of plans the council says will create a cleaner and more open space.
The project is partly funded by Harrow Borough council and partly by the Mayor of London.
