An experienced NHS project manager has been appointed to head a bid for the redevelopment of the Northwood and Pinner Hospital.
Russell Gate has been appointed head of the Northwood and Pinner Stakeholders Group, which is applying for development approval from the NHS.
The plan is for an £8 million revamp of the hospital and health centre. If approved Primary Medical Property, a health service development company, will take on the project.
The first step for the stakeholders group is to present a Strategic Outline Case (SOC) to the London Regional Office of the NHS Executive, which will then be followed by a Outline Business Case (OBC).
It is hoped the SOC will be prepared and presented to NHS executives before Christmas.
Mr Gate is an NHS consultant who has extensive experience in NHS and social care schemes that involve Private Finance Initiatives.
The stakeholders group involves representatives from all local health authorities including the Hillingdon Health Authority and the primary care and NHS trusts.
