A CANNABIS factory in Northolt has been shut down by police following a tip-off.
Cops swooped on the property, in Sussex Crescent, at around 5pm yesterday, after concerns were raised about the movements of its occupants by a member of the public.
Inside they discovered around 280 cannabis plants, at various stages of development.
They also seized heating equipment, UV lighting and bottles of fertilizer. Officers say a ventilation system had been installed at the property and the electrical supply had been tampered with to conceal the large amounts of power being used to grow the plants.
Detective Constable Mick King, of Ealing Police, said: "The seizure and closure highlights how the community can play their part in combating crime."
Nobody was arrested during the raid, and police are now making efforts to trace the occupants of the property.
